Old South Hunting Retriever Club

Welcome to the Old South Hunting Retriever Club. We are a club composed of hunting dog enthusiasts.

OSHRC was founded in 1991 and has become one of the largest Retriever clubs in the Southeast. Our events are family oriented and have something to offer for everyone young and old alike. As our name implies we are a group of people who have come together with the common interest of hunting retrievers. Our membership owns several different breeds of working dogs for the purpose of retrieving.

As a Club, our mission is  to help educate members on training and improving the breeds represented.  It is also our intent to continue proven and strong blood lines in these working dog breeds while remaining diligent in producing quality puppies.

OSHRC runs under the standards set by The Hunting Retriever Club, which is sanctioned by the United Kennel Club. We hold many events throughout the year which include training days, training seminars, hunt tests, picnics, clay shoots, and informal training groups.

Do not miss out on the fun! Come join us at our next event.

A trained retriever is the best conservation tool!

Our annual meeting and picnic is coming up next month. Once again, Glen and Jenny Guider have graciously opened their property (1047 BoBo Banks Rd Grantville Ga. 30220) to the club for our picnic Saturday July 9th at 12 noon. The club will provide chicken and rolls; we ask each member to bring a favorite side dish or two to share. Please RSVP to Mary Mitchell ([email protected]) no later than July 6th so we can ensure plenty of chicken for all planning to attend. Don’t forget to bring a beverage and a chair and feel free to come early or stay after the meeting and get in some training. Financials, minutes from the last annual meeting and other documents are forthcoming for your review, prior to the meeting.
